International Study Tour

Description

Students will be given the opportunity to participate in one international field trips. Participation is mandatory on the international Tourism field trip. Each year a field trip will be planned for students, the type of field trips which will be offered to students are 1)  The World Travel Market in London in November of each year, where students will be required to visit the tourism stands on display from all the countries of the World, attend lectures on current tourism issues and visit the city of London and some of its Tourist offerings. 2)  Visit an international tourist destination (In Ireland or in Europe), review the product offering the service delivery, the operational and managerial issues faced by tourism providers, the range of facilities, attractions and services provided. 3) Other major international tourism events which take place worldwide such as Futur. Students must repeat attend if they fail to participate on this trip or fail the assessment of their international field trip module. This is a year long module and the trip will be planned for a specified time over that period.

  4. To be ambassadors for the college in terms of behaviour
  5. To complete all necessary documentation in advance of travelling
  6. To gather pertinent information in the destination to enhance their knowledge of the place.
  7. To critically analyse the destination/event and prepare a comprehensive report.
