This module builds on the previous learning of tourism and culminates in an overview of global, national and local issues pertaining to International tourism, the tourism product and the tourist. It provides scope to analyse and discuss the changes that are being experienced by this dynamic, complex and ever-changing industry.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Determine the current work of the organisations and agencies that are involved in tourism at an international and global level

  2. Examine the volume and trends of global tourism and the factors that influence current patterns.

  3. Investigate the behaviour of the evolving tourist and the destination and marketers response

  4. Classify the impact and management of crises; economic, political, socio-cultural, environmental, health, technological, and commercial on the tourism product and the tourism markets.

  5. Demonstrate current and future developments in tourism
