Law for The Built Environment

Description

The aim of this module is for students to develop competency and understanding of the Irish legal system and an understanding of legal issues in relation to the built environment.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Have a broad knowledge and understanding of the principal purpose and scope of Irish law and it's affects on the built environment in Ireland;

  2. Have an awareness of legal considerations in decision making in the built environment and have a sensitivity to the legal problems which arise in the operation of a built environment businesses.

  3. Have the ability to analyse and apply law to their working environment;

  4. Have an appreciation of the legal principles of contract, tort, occupiers liability, planning and health, employment law and key legislation in relation to equality, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
