Learning Outcomes

  1. Recognise and solve non-homogeneous linear second order differential equations with constant coefficients in an engineering context

  2. Use tables to find Laplace transforms of simple functions

  3. Invert a Laplace transform using tables and partial fractions

  4. Solve a differential equation using Laplace transforms

  5. Organise and display data in an appropriate manner

  6. Summarise important characteristics of a data set

  7. State and apply the basic laws of probability

  8. Perform simple calculations for Binomial, Poisson and Normal distributions
