54 SPRINGBOARD UPSKILLING COURSES OFFERED BY ATLANTIC TU COMMENCING SEPT 2022

Courses designed for unemployed and those wishing to upskill in the workplace
Programmes delivered online and completed within one year

Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is offering 54 courses across its campuses in Donegal, Galway, Mayo and Sligo in Science, Technology and Engineering, Business and Social Science disciplines under the 2022 Springboard+ Programme unveiled today (25 May 2022) by the Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Simon Harris, TD.

Funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), these Atlantic TU delivered courses are free for unemployed participants and for all participants on Further Education (L6) programmes. For those in employment there is 90% funding for participants opting to study ordinary degree (L7), honours degree (L8) and masters (L9) level courses.

Atlantic Technological University, through its three former institutes GMIT, IT Sligo and Letterkenny IT, have received funding from HEA/Springboard+ since 2011 to design and deliver a range of upskilling courses in key growth areas including Biopharmaceutical Science, Computing & Information Technology, Lean Sigma and Quality, and Construction, and latterly in Culinary Skills. The 54 ATU Springboard offerings will be delivered across the university’s eight campuses in counties Donegal, Sligo, Mayo and Galway, commencing September 2022.

Dr Orla Flynn, President of Atlantic Technological University, says: “We welcome the launch of our Springboard courses by Minister Simon Harris.  Our university is a leader in developing and delivering online education programmes.  ATU is offering an array of courses addressing the needs of industry in the region and nationally including courses in culinary skills, computing and biopharma.  Many of these courses are also reflective of our changing world including courses in cyber security, industrial automation and Health Informatics.  They have been designed for learners who want to study part time at a pace that matches their work/life balance."
