ESRI’s John Fitzgerald to deliver lecture to GMIT Business students on Irish economy and policy challenges

John Fitzgerald, adjunct professor in Economics at Trinity College Dublin and former research professor at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), will deliver his annual lecture on the Irish economy to GMIT business students in GMIT’s Galway campus on Monday, 22 October at 12pm in Room 939. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Professor Fitzgerald is currently a member of the Commission of the Central Bank of Ireland and of the Independent Expert Panel established in 2014 by the Department of Communications Energy and Natural resources. He has been a Research Affiliate at the ESRI since November 2014 and prior to that was a Research Professor at the ESRI and Programme Coordinator of the Macroeconomics Research Area.

Ecomomic lecturer Marie Finnegan, GMIT School of Business, says: “Professor Fitzgerald is excellent at communicating economic concepts in a very accessible way. He will be talking about the performance of the Irish economy and the associated policy challenges.”
