GMIT and Soroptimists support international campaign to eliminate violence against women

GMIT President Dr Orla Flynn, staff, students and members of the local Soroptimists Club (Castlebar) attended a flag raising ceremony on campus on 25 November marking International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the commencement of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign which concludes on Human Rights Day (10 December). Soroptimist International runs the “Orange the World” campaign using the unifying colour throughout its activities to symbolise a brighter future, free from violence against women and girls.
