Companies seek highly skilled graduates for various sectors

Companies new to GMIT’s Career this year are Amazon, Aerogen, Agritech, Biomedical Research, ESB, Regeneron, Ryanair, and Sidero. They will be among 80 employers and organisations taking part in the fair which takes place at the Dublin Road (Galway) campus on Monday next, 1 October from 12 noon to 3pm.

The annual event is a highlight of the student academic calendar for final year students and graduates as well as members of the public seeking to learn about new and emerging employment and career trends and opportunities from representative of leading companies.

The schedule will include video interviews with companies and students, CV Clinics, Advice on Career Opportunities, emerging job growth areas and trends, as well as information on postgraduate study, volunteering, public and private sector job opportunities and some company presentations.

Bridie Killoran (Head of the Careers Service) GMIT says, “It is so rewarding to talk to final year students about all the exciting opportunities that are available to them now compared to five years ago. Employers seek GMIT graduates because they believe they have the necessary skills, adaptability and knowledge to take their place within their organisations.  In 2017, 92% of our graduates were either in employment or further study six months after graduating.”

“It is also great to see many of the same companies return each year including the ABP Food Group, Aldi, Cisco, Ericsson, Fidelity Investments, Kepak, Lidl, Linesight, Siteminder, and many more. For the full list of organisations attending, see:  http://www.gmit.ie/graduate-careers-fair
