Project Methods and Preparation

Description

The Project Methods and Preparation module provides the theoretical insight and practical skills required to plan, implement, and report a scientific research project in aquatic sciences. The module is the prequel to the research project in the second semester allowing the student preparation time to select, research  and design their research project. The module includes lectures and assignment / practical work.  There is a high element of self-directed study required in the research Bing of their individual projects.

Sustainable development topics referenced within the module include: Climate Action; Life Below Water; and Life On Land.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Critical appraise scientific literature

  2. Communicate scientific proposals, papers and reports with clarity and logical structure.

  3. Prepare and deliver an oral presentation on a scientific subject.

  4. Identify and choose a research project topic and plan the delivery of that research project.
