Promoting Health

This module aims to provide students with a grasp of the principles and practice of health promotion, focusing on the role of the nurse promoting health within a range of healthcare settings

1. Appraise the development and concepts of health promotion

2. Critically analyse models of and approaches to health promotion

3. Critically analyse the role of the nurse in health promotion

4. Assess and measure health promotion need, and be able to plan, implement and evaluate health promoting interventions

5. Evaluate the promotion of healthy behaviours and self-management with individuals

6. Examine contemporary health challenges in promoting health
