GMIT computing students

GMIT's Department of Computer Science & Applied Physics offers courses in the following areas:

  • Computing and Digital Media
  • Physics and Instrumentation
  • Software Development

We emphasise a 'hands on', 'can do' attitude, and provide you with the skill-set needed to achieve initial employment, and to advance your career prospects in the future.

Our software development programmes have a heavy emphasis on practical programming whereas the business/media-oriented programmes are more directed towards the development and deployment of computer-related solutions and products.  The aim is to give you a broad base in modern computer skills and position you for entry and progression in a wide range of careers.
