Supervision and Continuous Professional Development

Description

The importance of supervision and continuous professional development within the community and youth work sectors is evident. It is apparent that professionalisation, the need for evidenced-based practice and the flexibility and adaption required of workers are emerging trends. This module sets out to examine the theoretical frameworks, principles and practice of both supervision and continuous professional development.   

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply various theoretical frameworks to critically examine supervision, its purpose and desired outcomes 

  2. Demonstrate a range of skills and knowledge a supervisor would use with a supervisee during supervision 

  3. Critically appraise the meaning of continuous professional development.

  4. Research and devise a personal continuous professional development framework
