Tourism Industry Skills

The module has a practical dimension that students  will find challenging but very rewarding. It is delivered through a combination of lectures, practicals, presentations from industry experts and site visits to tourism operations.

1. Undertake site visits to local tourism operations including transport, visitor attractions, entertainment, activities and visitor information centres

2. Gain basic practical skills in the area of tourism

3. Introduce students to practical skills required for work placement

4. Learn from guest speakers on various aspects of running a tourism business

5. Identify the main elements of managing transport, visitor attractions, entertainment, activities operations and visitor information centres
