Transfer/add on applications

Information for transfer students on how to apply for entry to Year 2, 3 or 4

We accept direct transfer applications from suitable candidates for entry to Years 2, 3 and 4 of our programmes through Online Admissions from early January until 31st May each year.

Applications received after this date will only be considered if places remain available.

New for 2024

We are delighted to confirm that we are now accepting applications for Year’s 2 & 3 of the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care (level 7) on our Galway and Mayo campus.

Entry Requirements

Students applying to transfer to the second or other stage of a programme must have passed the stage examinations and have achieved the learning outcomes for progression to the ATU Galway-Mayo programme.

All applicants will be considered subject to places being available on that programme.

Applicants are ranked on overall average result if demand exceeds available places.

International applicants should email the International Office for more information.

How to apply

You can apply from early January– even if you have not completed your current course of study. When you have completed your study, please submit your transcripts when they become available to you.

Please note that ATU Galway-Mayo will only accept verified transcripts or statement of results containing a college logo or stamped by a college. You can submit results by email to admissions.galwaymayo@atu.ie

Application Timeline:

  • Application portal opens: Early January
  • Closing date: 31st May
  • Transfer Offers Issued: From July
  • Acceptance of Offer: 2 weeks from receipt of offer by email
  • Commencement of Academic Year: September
