Description

This module deals with the mathematical theory and application of applied optics and details optical methods used in optoelectronics.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Understanding the theory, concepts and methods of advanced optics and optoelectronic technology.

  2. Explain complex concepts and principles relating to optics and optical systems.

  3. Explain the principles underlying optoelectronic systems.

  4. Select appropriate mathematical techniques to model optical & optoelectronic systems.

  5. Analyse and solve complex problems in optics and optoelectronics and synthesise different areas of knowledge in the solution of such problems.
