Applied Robotics 1

Description

This module will provide students with knowledge of robotic automation systems, including the use of vision systems in robotic applications. Students will program a cell using the teach-pendant. A 3D modelling software will be used for programming, optimising and virtual commissioning of robotic cells. Finally, the module will cover safety considerations when the automation of a manual operation is proposed.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Use a teach pendant and simulation software to operate, programme, optimise and commission a robotic cell.

  2. Describe the advantages of vision systems for robotic industrial applications.

  3. Discuss the different types of industrial robots configurations, their safety features, and their industrial use.

  4. Operate a robotic arm respecting safety guidelines.
