Clinical Laboratory and Project Management

Description

This module aims to provide learners with a detailed knowledge of the key principles and theories of management and leadership. It provides the student with an understanding of effective approaches to management and leadership, improvement, and impact of information systems within a clinical laboratory. Evidenced based research focusing on the links between people management practices and positive organisational outcomes, major contemporary changes and developments in practice will be further explored.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Critically analyse and demonstrate knowledge of the key principles of leadership and management.

  2. Design, critically evaluate and advise on a range of leadership and management development interventions.

  3. Demonstrate expertise in project management including project initiation, risk management, stakeholder identification, close-out of project and communication planning.
