Event Strategy and Policy

Description

This module aims to provide learners with the ability to critically analyse and evaluate event strategy and policy in order to understand the challenges and constraints which event managers face when planning and implementing strategies. The module integrates the application of individual key subject areas and focuses in particular on public and private policy relating to the event industry.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Assess the concepts and models of strategic environmental analysis and planning in relation to the event industry.

  2. Evaluate the importance of a strategic approach to managing an organisation.

  3. Contrast the role and nature of public and private policies as evidenced in the event industry.

  4. Critically evaluate the current strategic and policy issues influencing the event industry.

  5. Predict and gain further insights into the future direction of the event industry and related policy developments.
