SDGs and PARTNERSHIP

Description

According to the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They represent an urgent call to action for all countries to join a global partnership.

The SDGs cover a wide-range of topics and can be described thematically using the "P" nomenclature under the headings of "People", "Planet", "Prosperity" and "Partnership". 

This module provides an introduction to the SDGs and focusses on the theme of Partnership and the importance of regional context in achieving the goals.

 

Learning Outcomes

  1. Articulate the aims and purposes of the UN SDGs.

  2. Demonstrate knowledge of the application of selected SDGs in a regional context

  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the inter-relationships between the four thematic areas

  4. Advocate the importance of partnership in achieving the SDGs with a focus on regional context.
