We will email an Invitation to Register to your GMIT student email account in mid-August with details on how to register and pay your fees online.

If you are applying for an add-on programme, you will receive your invitation by post over the summer period.

Continuing students in most cases start back on 21st September, 2020.

If you haven’t received your Invitation to Register by then please email

*** Students who register online are liable for fees as per the current year fees schedule. Students who fail to complete registration and pay all outstanding fees, will not be allowed to progress to the next stage of their course or graduate from GMIT.***


Student ID Cards 

Continuing Students i.e. students that were in GMIT in 2019 and are returning to GMIT for the academic year 2020. Your student ID card will be posted to your mailing address from the 28th September 2020 once you have registered for the academic year 2020.  Please ensure that the correct mailing address is on your registration record, check

Those registering late may experience a delay in receiving their ID card.

Cian Dalton, Claregalway overall winner of the GMIT Mechanical and Industrial Student Expo (2021) whose project is now eligible for direct entry into Engineer Ireland Innovative Student of the Year competition.

A GMIT Engineering student’s prototype of a water surface waste cleaner which can be used to safeguard against ecological degradation has won him Engineers Ireland West Project Award at the annual GMIT Mechanical and Industrial Student Expo (2021).

GMIT Virtual Choir have released “Bohemian Rhapsody”, its sixth virtual project in the past year. The arrangement of this iconic Freddie Mercury song is by Mark Brymer with GMIT Choir Director Sean Rowland adding several parts.
