School of Health Science, Wellbeing & Society
The newly established School of Health Science, Wellbeing & Society is located on ATU Mayo Campus in Castlebar. It is a progressive and dynamic academic school offering a broad range of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the areas of Health, Wellbeing and Society.
The School consists of two departments delivering undergraduate and postgraduate level courses:
- Department of Nursing, Health Science and Integrated Care
- Department of Environmental Humanities and Social Sciences
Our talented, professionally qualified academic staff offer innovative approaches to teaching and learning that will support students to achieve their very best. Course content and work placements (where applicable) ensure graduates are equipped for the challenges and opportunities of the modern workplace.
Our courses have a strong practical ethos and aim to strike a balance between theory and practice. One of our key strengths lies in our smaller class sizes providing a more personal one-to-one approach to learning.
We take pride in our strong collaborative partnerships locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Our focus is to present students with the best learning environment, both inside and outside the classroom.
