The creative industries are among the world's most rapidly growing economic sectors. The suite of academic programmes available at the school provides a broad range of creative career options.

Our graduates work at all levels in Film, TV, Animation, Games, Broadcasting, Publishing, Advertising, Digital Arts, Graphic Design, Illustration, Web Design, Creative Media, Fashion and Textiles, Product Design, Interiors, Furniture Design, Wood & Furniture Manufacturing, Architectural Woodworking, Fine Art, Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, Ceramics, and as Post Primary Teachers in Construction, Design Graphics and Art.

Our programmes have a strong practical, skill-based ethos. We aim to strike a balance between theory and practice, thinking and doing, art and craft, and design and making. We also embed new technology and digital practice into our programmes in addition to the more traditional techniques and creative processes.

The school is deeply engaged in collaboration with industry partners, community, and other organisations in a wide variety of projects, initiatives and research.
