GMIT Engineering Expo 2020 awards recipients announced

Annually the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in GMIT along with its many industrial partners host an Engineering Poster Exhibition and Competition – “Engineering Expo”.

This event was scheduled to take place in late April but was postponed due to the pandemic.

However, the competition was judged internally and this year's awards recipents are:

Academic Excellence Awards - Retrospectively

  • Best Agricultural Engineering Student Award – Stage 1, Daniel Thompson.
  • Best BioMedical Engineering Student Award – Stage 1, Kevin Carleton.
  • Best Departmental Common Entry Student Award – Stage 1, Julia Berglar.
  • Best Energy Engineering Student Award – Stage 1, Joseph Staunton.
  • Best Manufacturing Engineering Design Student Award – Stage 1, Peter Mulleady
  • Best Mechanical Engineering Student Award, Conor Gately
  • Best Agricultural Engineering Student Award – Stage 2, Tadhgh Fogarty
  • Best Biomedical Engineering Student Award – Stage 2, Aoife Earnor
