Applied Robotics 2

Description

This module will provide students with advanced knowledge of robotic automation systems, including the use of vision systems in robotic applications. Students will learn how to integrate components in a robotic cell and control the cell using advanced features of the teach-pendant. Finally, the module will cover cost and safety considerations when the automation of a manual operation is proposed.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Use advanced features of a teach-pendant to control a robotic cell.

  2. Discuss the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of robotic systems.

  3. Integrate hardware components (PLC, sensors, end-effectors, vision systems) with a robotic system.

  4. Discuss safety standards relating to robotic arms.
