CAD 3 / Building Information Modelling (BIM)

This module will enable students to acquire the skills and competence to represent buildings and building details graphically using AutoDesk 2D and 3D software. Revit Architecture (BIM) enables helps the exploration of early design concepts and forms, and more accurately maintains a vision through design, documentation, and construction. It enables changes to be automatically updated across the project. Revit Architecture software also provides tools to support sustainable design, clash detection, construction planning, and fabrication.

1. Use AutoCAD 2016 at an advanced level.

2. Create complex construction models of buildings in 3D using AutoCAD.

3. Generate 3D building models using BIM authoring software

4. Design and build generic building components and families as required using BIM authoring software.

5. Interrogate Virtual Architectural Models of Buildings for accurate data.
