The first year is a common year, where we were exposed to various disciplines such as Graphic Design and Illustration, Interior Design, Product Design and Textiles and Fashion Design.

Growing up, I always had a passion for art, and I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to express my creativity somehow.

To avoid making hasty decisions, I decided to take a year out and during that time, I discovered the Design degree at ATU Galway City, Wellpark Road. The first year is a common year, where we were exposed to various disciplines such as Graphic Design and Illustration, Interior Design, Product Design and Textiles and Fashion Design.

Initially, I leaned towards graphic design, but the introductory experience helped me realise my true passion lay in fashion and textiles. My placement in third year at Portwest further reinforced the importance of digital design skills, which I developed and honed throughout my studies.
