Communications and Professional Development in Outdoor Education

Description

This module introduces learners to communications theory and practice and encourages them to develop skills which will make them more effective communicators in their personal and professional careers.

 

Learning Outcomes

  1. select and apply specific communication skills to meet the demands of their chosen professions

  2. plan, design and deliver effective oral presentations, using appropriate visual aid

  3. produce professional documentation following accepted conventions of design, structure and content which is grammatically and technically correct

  4. demonstrate an understanding of co-operative working behaviour and environments and make an effective contribution in such environments

  5. blend theory and practices in areas of team design and develop skills to succeed as team designers, leaders and members

  6. discuss contemporary communication issues and their impact on communication processes in organisations
