Craft Specialisations 3: Screen Writing 2

Year two will examine an in depth knowledge of screen craft using formulas such as Joesph Campbels 'The Heroes Journey'. Year two will further develop knowledge in the form of the creative process of writing for Film and Documentary.  

1. Demonstrate an in depth understanding of the elements of dramatic narrative form.
2. Demonstrate a knowledge of film genres.
3. Demonstrate the skills needed to develop characters.
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the differences in the narrative, documentary and abstract/experimental  film forms.
5. Demonstrate proficiency in writing treatments for documentary.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in writing for children.
7. Present properly formatted scripts.
8. Demonstrate a creative understanding in keeping with learners individual style.
9. Exhibit an understanding of the requirements and key cinematic attributes of writing for the screen.
