Digital Heritage I

Description

A module in applied multimedia design within the Heritage sector with specific reference to the use of digital imaging and audio for public outreach, display and archival strategies.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate the ability to create digital images in formats required for reproduction in online, archival and display environments using Adobe Photoshop.

  2. Demonstrate the basic ability to record audio using simple recording equipment for podcasts and museum audio guides to professional standard.

  3. Demonstrate the basic ability to edit audio and output into relevant professional formats for online and exhibition/outreach contexts using Audacity software.

  4. Show evidence of ability to research an exhibition subject in order to produce a script suitable for public outreach in the audio medium.

  5. Combine technical and conceptual skills in order to develop and deliver a completed podcast\audio guide suitable for public audiences in museum/heritage centre exhibition envionments using simple recording equipment and Audacity software.
