Digital Projects

Description

The Digital Projects module is an integrated approach to manufacturing that is centred around using a variety of CAM software packages to equip students with the skills to produce directly using a range of CNC equipment from CNC routers, 3D printers to laser machines. The module will look at the digital Fabrication of a wide range of products from one off 3D objects to panel processing and kitchen manufacture.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Apply a variety of CAD CAM software in 2D & 3D applications.

  2. Compare and contrast a wide variety of software and transfer data between different packages - CAD to CAM

  3. Setup and use a wide variety of digital manufacturing equipment. 

  4. Produce a range of products using digital fabrication equipment

  5. Undertake the analysis of a 'technical problem' in relation to the fabrication of a product
