Financial Management 1 Managerial Finance

Description

This module introduces students to the area of finance and financial management. It looks in detail at what financial management is, its relationship to financial accounting and management accounting, finance and investment decision making based on accounting statements, the importance and management of working capital, and the area of personal finance.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Have a fundamental knowledge of the principles of financial management and its importance in the business and corporate environment.

  2. Understand the role and purpose of financial management.

  3. Analyse and interpret financial statements for the purposes of investment decisions.

  4. Recognise and collate the information necessary for a variety of working capital management scenarios.

  5. Provide solutions and recognise the main personal finance issues facing individuals.
