French Language and Culture 4

Description

French Language and Culture 4 is for students who wish to be able to engage effectively with French at an advanced level and who wish to broaden their knowledge of the culture and society of France and Francophone communities. This module is in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), Level B1.2/ B2.1

Learning Outcomes

  1. Listen to and understand the main points expressed in areas regularly encountered in work, education, leisure and in discussions of current affairs or topics of personal interest in the media.

  2. Deal with most situations likely to arise whilst interacting in a Francophone environment.

  3. Write clear texts on a wide range of subjects related to their interests, to pass on information or present points of view.

  4. Interact with other speakers in detail, displaying the ability to give opinions and account for their point of view.

  5. Read a wide range of material, using the support of dictionaries, derive enjoyment from selected literature and expand their knowledge of current affairs relevant to France and Francophone countries.
