Description
This objective of this module is to provide the student with a basic theoretical and practical understanding of spatial data management through the use of Geographical Information Systems.
Learning is supported through the use of demographic, environmental, historical and archaeological data at global, regional and local scales.
Learning Outcomes
Have an understanding of the theoretical basis of Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Have knowledge of how spatial data is structured and managed.
Have experience in the use of standard GIS software packages used in the cultural, historical and environmental sectors.
Be capable of working independently with various types of spatial data.
