History and Conservation of Irish Architecture

This module is an introduction to the conservation of historic buildings, their features and materials and the appreciation of Irish architecture from pre-historic times to the twenty-first century

1. Demonstrate an awareness of the evolution of architectural design and technology.

2. Demonstrate familiarity with the requirements of the building regulations as they relate to architectural conservation.

3. Describe the historic features of a building

4. Recognise and use freehand sketching to describe buildings from Irish Architectural History

5. Describe the various architectural styles of buildings in Ireland
