Human Anatomy and Physiology for Engineers

Description

This module is concerned with describing the human body structure and function and how biomedical engineers can contribute to the health care system. In particular, the mechanisms of homeostasis, the hemodyanamic effects of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems and the musculoskeletal systems will be explained from an engineering point of view.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify human body structure and function with reference to body positions.

  2. Describe the various systems of the human body

  3. Describe the mechanisms of Homeostasis

  4. Recall and interpret the hemodyanamic effects that occur within the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.

  5. Classify the structure of the various elements of the musculoskeletal system
