Imagining Ireland

Description

This module studies representations of Ireland in literature and the arts. These representations, of a country and its peoples, are studied in different historical contexts from the Tudor period onwards. Students will develop a critical understanding of Irish identities as projections of different value systems.

  3. develop a critical understanding of Irish nationalism within a context of wider relationships
