Description

"Information security means protecting information and information systems from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction." This module introduces the learner to the tools and techniques used in Information Security. The module will cover aspects of Risk Management, Asset Management, Access Control and defining the threat landscape.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify and critically assess the issue of risk management in relation to Information Systems.

  2. Configure and appraise access control and asset management in an organisation.

  3. Identify and apply the core Information Security principles.

  4. Appraise the threat landscape and devise a threat protection plan for an organisation.
