Irish and European History, 1200-1600

Description

On completion of this course learners should have a fundamental knowledge of the principal episodes of Irish and European history from 1200-1600.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of the themes and the narrative structure of Irish Medieval and Early Modern history up to 1600.

  2. Comprehend and articulate the relationship between Medieval/Early Modern history and the broader heritage industry.

  3. Express an awareness of the interdisciplinary relationships between Medieval/Early Modern history and cognate disciplines (e.g. archaeology and historical geography).

  4. Discuss and position historical developments within Ireland during the period 1200-1600 in a broader european framework.
