Learning Outcomes

  1. Describe the structure and regulation of prokaryotic and eukaryotic DNA & RNA

  2. Recognise the various DNA & RNA sequences that are relevant to clinical diagnostics.

  3. Explain the modus operandi of DNA manipulation protocols.

  4. Select the most appropriate DNA protocols to use in the diagnosis of hereditary, infectious, and pathological conditions.

  5. Describe current  &  near-future applications of DNA & RNA technology in medical research.

  6. Use appropriate reagents and equipment for the fundamental isolation, manipulation, and analysis of DNA.
