Production Practice 3: Pitching, Producing and Promoting

Description

This module will bring the learners on the production journey from the generation of an idea to the marketing of a finished project.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify the creative aspect of being a producer in terms of possible sources for production concepts.

  2. Demonstrate research skills and the development process.

  3. Demonstrate the process of Pitching a project.

  4. Outline the entrepreneurial role of the producer in sourcing finance, commissions and markets for film and television productions.

  5. Defend the concepts of co-productions and strategic alliances.

  6. Outline the commissioning process of the Broadcasters.

  7. Assess and discriminate the various forms of funding from a state agency i.e. BSE/IFB.

  8. Demonstrate and understanding of the role of the sales agent and the distributor.

  9. Outline the importance of PR in promotion of a project.

  10. Generate marketing tools specific to individual projects and budgetary constraint.

  11. Demonstrate a highly developed understanding ot the personal and communication skills required for the audio-visual sector.

  12. Demonstrate a highly developed understanding of the diverse range of pathways into the sector.

  13. Demonstrate a highly developed understanding of the of the self motivational skills required for  the audio-visual sector.
