Rural Resource Planning & Policy

Description

The rural communities in which many rural development organisations work confront multiple interrelated problems. To respond to these, a broader approach to planning-Rural Resource Planning- is required. This module presents rural planning methods through which community,volunrary and rural development organisations gather, analyse and interpret information that describes problems and suggests solutions in a rural area.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Identify and Evaluate approaches to Rural Resource Planning.

  2. Assess the main contributors to Rural Resource Planning and Policy.

  3. Evaluate the impact of Rural Resource Planning and Policy.

  4. Identify and Critique appropriate tools for Rural Resource Planning. (SAPS).

  5. Discuss how an organisation can draw up strategic plans.

  6. Prepare and present a Community/Area Profile n a rural catchment area and recommend a resultant Action Plan.
