Sarah Mohan Finance and Economics

I got to touch on so many aspects of both finance and economics, leaving me open to a range of opportunities in the future from a financial advisor to a research economist.

Moving from Wicklow, I was nervous not knowing a soul or a single street name.

As soon as I took my first steps on the ATU Galway City, Dublin Road Campus and was met with countless smiling faces passing me by, I was instantly at ease and knew all my worrying was for nothing.

Throughout my first year my lecturers, the Student's Union team and even the smiley caretakers made my transition into university life a lot easier.

I started in general business to get a feel for it all and explore the business world.

During year 2, I chose to branch off and move to the Finance and Economics degree.

My next year was filled with active learning through assignments and group projects that applied to the real world. A selection of the modules I studied allowed me to sit some of the QFA (Qualified Financial Advisor) and the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) exams before leaving college.
