SDGs and PEOPLE

Description

This module provides an introduction to the SDGs (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) focussing on the theme of PEOPLE and the importance of regional context in achieving the goals.

The focus of SDG1 Zero Poverty is on ending poverty in all its forms everywhere.

The focus of SDG2 Zero Hunger is on ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable agriculture.

The focus of SDG3 Good Health and Wellbeing is on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.

The focus of SDG4 Quality Education is on ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

The focus of SDG5 Gender Equality is on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.

In this module these topics are examined within a regional context. The module provides the learner with insight into how global challenges can be tackled at a local level, with the aim of empowering individual learners to become informed and responsible global citizens.

  2. Outline the application of the SDG theme PEOPLE in a regional context

  3. Demonstrate knowledge of the inter-relationships between the SDGs in the theme of PEOPLE
