SDGs and PLANET

Description

This module provides an introduction to the SDGs (6, 12, 13, 14, 15) focussing on the theme of Planet and the importance of regional context in achieving the goals.
The focus of SDG6 Clean Water and Sanitation is on ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for everyone.
The focus of SDG12 Responsible Consumption & Production is on developing and committing to sustainable consumption and production practices.
The focus of SDG13 Climate Action is on taking urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
The focus of SDG14 Life Below Water is on protecting and sustainably exploiting our oceans, seas and marine resources.
The focus of SDG15 Life on Land is on protecting, restoring and promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, reversing land degradation and halting biodiversity loss.
In this module these topics are examined within a regional context. The module provides the learner with insight into how global challenges can be tackled at a local level, with the aim of empowering individual learners to become informed, reflective and responsible global citizens.
