Sustainable Tourism Management

Description

The modules takes a geographical perspective on sustainable tourism as a spatial practice in Irish and International settings.  Issues relating to supply, demand and the challenges of sustainable tourism destination management are explored.  

Learning Outcomes

  1. discuss concepts of sustainable tourism and apply these concepts to international and national case studies.

  2. discuss issues relevant to demand for and supply of sustainable tourism products and destinations

  3. review the role of protected areas in sustainable tourism in international and Irish settings.

  4. review the role of eco-tourism as sustainable tourism

  5. review the role of support structures for sustainable tourism in Ireland.
