In this module the principles of Technical Graphics are introduced to the learner. The core ares of study include the theorems and constructions of panier geometry along with the descriptive geometry of solid objects. The material will be presented to the learner through the duel lenses of graphical communication and its associated graphical code and practices as well as developing visual problem-solving techniques and skills.
Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Orthographic Projection and Axonometric Projection to represent given objects both in multi view and pictorial form.
Create detailed working drawings to represent design ideas and solutions consistent with International Standards (ISO) and best practice.
Apply his/her knowledge of the theorems and constructions of Plane Geometry to the solving of problems posed.
Implement a graphical understanding of the principles of True length and True shape to the surface development of regular solids.
Develop his/her visuo-spatial skills to aid the visualisation of and manipulation of real and represented objects.
Read and understand what is represented graphically and take what information is needed from a drawing.
Apply the knowledge he/she has acquired to the pedagogical context required as a second level educator.
